ookoi Dgital Suite - in Real and Second Life

As part of the 'Kunstmaand Ameland' ookoi will do a 'Digital Suite' in the Archipel Media Lab, Achterom bij Galerie Dit Eiland in Hollum, on the stormy island of Ameland (the Netherlands). The event will consist in two consecutive days of an 'open / walk in studio', during which ookoi will be there working on the soundtrack of their upcoming feature-length movie/clip, parts of which will be shot on the island (thursday 15/11, friday 16/11). On saturday evening 17/11 they will perform and host a 'Radio Raudio' event in and around the Medialab.

During their three day Digital Suite, ookoi can simultaneously be seen and heard in Second Life, in art.think.box's 'Black Box', in Netherbeck ... To teleport to the Black Box, use http://slurl.com/secondlife/Netherbeck/184/137/69 (you need to have Second Life installed for this) ...

Since the media art group Pomodoro Bolzano started in 1994 there has almost been every media from analogue to digital involved, from seashells to avatar orchestra as metamedia, performance, simulation, manouver... in december 2006 art.think.box started as an experiment with Second Life as a new tool for the extension and focussing of art projects as mixed reality happenings and performative presentations.

To add to the 2-dimensional surface of the internet a 3-d virtual artist-run-space which is to be used actively in real-time by real people with their avatars.

Architecture not as static symbol or monument. Space as space for action, as metamorphosis of a stylized and idealized vision build to order and reverberating the spirit of the moment.
